The Statistical Genetics Initiative in Oxford aims to bring together researchers working on large-scale statistical analyses of human genetic variation and its consequences, to further strengthen the genetics community in Oxford, and to tackle challenges and seize opportunities jointly. This initiative is open to University of Oxford-based researchers at all career stages working on large-scale statistical analyses of human genetic variation and its consequences.
The programme for the launch on the 25th has just been announced, and can be downloaded here.
The plans include:
Brief programme introductions by the PIs working in statistical genetics
Poster presentations by junior researchers
Broader discussions of obstacles and vacancies in the field, how we can create and make better use of existing opportunities in Oxford, and on what we can do through this initiative to facilitate this.
