Lara Borkotoky
Research Assistant
Lara is currently working as a Research Assistant in the Lang Group at the Oxford-GSK IMCM where she is using Parkinson's patient-derived iPSCs to analyse extracellular vesicles exchanged between neurons and astrocytes.
Lara holds a Master's degree in Neuroscience from UCL (University College London), where she was investigating a novel Ca2+ channel inhibitor using mouse brain slice electrophysiology and iPSC-derived neurons. She also completed her BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield.
Her research interests lie in exploring the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, while also being passionate about ion channels, biophysics, and women's health research.
