Vision

The shared vision for the Institute going forwards will be to understand human disease and improve health at both an individual and global level.

Mission

Our mission will be to understand the molecular drivers of health and disease, how they make us who we are, and to advance precision healthcare through a clinically integrated and data-led approach.

PRIORITIES

This mission will be delivered by focusing on six broad priorities, including three core areas of focus:

1. Understand the drivers of human health and disease by integrating genetics, genomics and proteomics with structural, molecular, cellular and spatial biology, and focus on identifying molecular drivers and treatable pathways and traits.

2. Build a world-class and globally-accessible clinical data hub bringing together clinical and research data sets alongside cutting-edge tools, infrastructure and processes.

3. Support clinical translation and impact of biological discoveries through close partnerships with the NHS, other global healthcare systems regulators and industry.

These will be supported by three enablers:

4. A collaboration and partnership-led approach will be integral to our way of working.

5. Supportive and empowered community of researchers, students and staff. Actively engaging with the public and patients to help boost understanding and adoption of precision healthcare.

6. Provide state-of-the-art facilities, operations and infrastructure to support world-leading research and provide space for innovation and collaboration.
