Genomic Medicine and Statistics DPhil Programme
Combining cutting-edge genomic techniques with statistical computational analysis to advance genomic medicine
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The Wellcome 4-year DPhil programme in Genomic Medicine and Statistics (GMS) was established in 2008 and successfully attracts outstanding students to pursue their DPhil studies in a multidisciplinary environment.
GMS LEADERSHIP TEAM
The GMS programme is led by Professor Julian Knight, co-directors Professors John Todd and Ira Milosevic, course administrator Isabel Schmidt, and teaching leads Helen Lockstone and Dr Gavin Band.
STUDENT PERSPECTIVES

GMS TAUGHT TERM
The first year of the 4-year GMS programme comprises a taught term and up to 3 rotations in different research groups. Teaching topics span genome biology, statistics and bioinformatics in a mix of lab techniques and computational work.
GMS RESEARCH PROJECTS
Over 50 leading Oxford academics are associated with the GMS programme with research encompassing our diverse themed areas of genomics.
